Tsunami leaves trail of physical and spiritual needs
Bible Societies race to provide hope, comfort and Scripture Resources.
Even as the toll of the earthquake and tsunami that struck South Asia and Eastern Africa continues to defy comprehension, relief aid is streaming into the region.
The American Bible Society through its partner Bible Societies in Thailand, Indonesia, India, and Sri Lanka is providing a host of Bible resources to people in the region. From Scripture booklets of encouragement to coloring books for children to audio Scriptures to replacement Bibles for churches and congregations swept away, the Bible Society is helping to fill the spiritual needs that will linger for a lifetime.
Our United Bible Societies partners in the region are addressing physical needs as conduits of love and hope. We are standing with them in prayer and in doing what we can, namely provide the Bible resources they so desperately need in the wake of this unprecedented disaster.
